Understand Ubuntu Philosophy
Learn about the ancient African philosophy that shapes every aspect of the UBEC Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) Protocol. "I am because we are" is not just a motto—it's the foundation of our economic design.
Read About Ubuntu →Explore the Four Tokens
Discover how Air, Water, Earth, and Fire tokens represent diversity, reciprocity, mutualism, and regeneration in economic practice.
Read Token Stories →Set Up Your Wallet
Create a Stellar wallet to interact with UBEC tokens. We recommend using Freighter wallet or Stellar Laboratory for developers.
Wallet Setup Guide →Join a Bioregion
Connect with your local economic community or help establish a bioregion in your area. Economics works best when rooted in place.

Getting Started
Do I need cryptocurrency experience to participate?
Not at all. While UBEC uses blockchain technology, we provide guided walkthroughs and support for newcomers. Many participants start with no crypto experience.
What wallet should I use?
We recommend Freighter wallet for general use or Stellar Laboratory for developers. Both are free and work seamlessly with UBEC tokens.
Technical Questions
Which blockchain does UBEC use?
The UBEC DAO Protocol is built on the Stellar network, chosen for its low fees, fast transactions, and environmental efficiency.
Are there transaction fees?
Yes, minimal network fees (fractions of a cent) are required by Stellar to prevent spam. These are not UBEC fees but standard blockchain costs.
Community & Governance
How are decisions made in the protocol?
THE UBEC DAO uses holonic governance where communities have autonomy within their bioregions while participating in larger collective decisions.
Can anyone start a bioregion?
Yes! We encourage communities to map and establish their local bioregions. Our guides provide step-by-step instructions for the process.
